Better Out Than In
Banksy latest piece in his on going New York exhibit. It’s a slaughterhouse delivery truck is carrying 60 stuffed animals (or puppets) - cows, chickens, pigs, lambs - who are seen moving their heads through wooden slats. This isn’t just a visual installation, however. The animals can also be heard squealing and banging their against the sides of the “Farm Fresh Meats Inc” truck.
Much has already been said about Jay Z’s Magna Carta… Holy Grail, but Alex Reyes takes it in a new direction thanks to his own visual skills and Hov’s constant mention of artists on his latest record. In his own words Reyes describes, “We get it, you can wipe your ass with hundred dollar bills, but sorry Jay, you’re neither ‘the new Jean-Michel’ or ‘the modern day Pablo Picasso.’ If said artists could return the favor and include you in their work though, it might look something like this.” Featuring “works” by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Mark Rothko, Roy Lichtenstein and more, this delve into the fantastical is quite well done.
